The Ultra-Brief CAM (UB-CAM) presents a systematic approach to screening for delirium through a two-step protocol that integrates UB-2 items (Fick et al., 2015; 2018) and 3D-CAM items (Marcantonio et al., 2014). Delirium, characterized by an acute and reversible state of confusion, is notably prevalent in over 25% of hospitalized older adults. Timely identification and management are crucial for mitigating potential complications and enhancing patient outcomes.
